Android Central Question

I have a Galaxy A5 2017 with a SanDisk Extreme PRO 256GB Micro SD Card. I save EVERYTHING on my SD card but when I check "My Files" it shows I've used 24.50 GB / 32 GB. In frustration I selected "show hidden files" and deleted everything in the Internal Storage. I restarted my phone and it now shows 24.04 GB / 32 GB. I then removed an app and it went up to 24.05 GB / 32GB. I'm concerned it will get completely full and I'll have no way to fix it.

Welcome to Android Central! To be clear, you mean "storage," not "data." Data would refer to internet usage over your cell or wi-fi network.

Even though you save data to the SD card, the apps you install will still need to use a lot of your internal storage. Samsung phones are notorious for packing a lot of extra stuff along with the system, so out of the box, it would not be unusual for about 10 GB of the 32 GB of storage to be used by the OS and preinstalled apps/bloatware. Since modern apps are getting bigger and bigger, it would not be unusual for the ones that you may have installed to take up an additional 15 GB.

Also, certain messaging and social media apps can build up gigantic data caches, so it's worth looking at their app info to see how much storage they're using.

I would be helpful to see a screenshot of your Settings>Storage menu: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...ide-how-post-screenshots-android-central.html. Also, DiskUsage can give you more information about what's taking up space.
