Why is android system webview disabled?

I noticed that android system webview is disabled on my s10plus and s9 plus and i cannot enable it? is webview important or needed?

That's normal, after Nougat the System Webview functionality was included in the Chrome app. You can enable the old System Webview app if you disable Chrome or use a couple of tricks with the developer options. You don't need to worry about it.

Thanks for the confirmation, these crashes always seem to occur after I've done something else making me think that it was something I'd done lol, after doing a factory reset all was well probably because I had updated Google Chrome in the early stages of resetting the phone, very often reset to factory settings is a good thing as it clears all the garbage from the internal storage.

Anyhow all is well now as webview was previously disabled and still is due to having android pie and the latest chrome version that came out on 23rd March 2021.
