Why is AT&T slow to update software?

Why must AT&T take their sweet time in bringing out updates! I want 5.0.3 and I want it now. Do they do it because they think more people will buy the s6 when it comes out if they wait? More people are going to be coming your way for the newest and greatest things first, not to have them six months after everyone else!

The ROM is created, correct? If samsung has a deal with AT&T about the active and other specials with their phone you'd think AT&T would make sure they get that stuff before TMO and VZN..

They aren't in a super rush to do it. Mots carriers aren't .. it just eventually comes.

I would suggest next time grabbing something like a Nexus or Moto so you won't have to worry about physical buttons if they bother you .

It's fairly complicated... Google releases Android source, Samsung gets the code, modifies it to incorporate Touchwiz, then they go back in and add in all the carrier-requested modifications and software.... then they test, then notify the carrier that it is ready for test and the carrier tests and qualifies the software... then the carrier rolls out the software OTA link in a typically staggered update. The whole process can take quite a long time to complete.

AT&T is one of many carriers in the mix... both in the US and worldwide.... they might get better treatment due to their size, but Samsung isn't going to wait on them hand and foot.

I picked this phone because it's so damn hardy. I own my own painting company. Third day I had it I dropped it in a five gallon bucket of paint, rinsed it off in the sink and 2 minutes later took a five minute phone call. The home button is not the issue, it's a known problem now about it going to the Google search. Acting like a long press. It's in the OS. It need a patch.

I had this same issue since my S5 Active updated to 4.4.

That stupid issue almost caused me to smash my S5 numerous times. I know it isn't a permanent fix, but restarting the phone would fix this issue temporarily for me.

I finally fixed it permanently by paying off my remaining payments on my next plan and switching to the Note Edge.

I just switched from Verizon to at&t. I've had this phone for two weeks... almost ready to take it back for something different.

It's so frustrating.. The struggle is real.

They are still doing stupid stuff with the hone button? I had a SIII, and for the first week or so, I got completely feed up with the lag on the hone button... Turns out it was just a delay to see if I was holding it down to get into S-voice. Bleh...
