Why is email with photo attached sent to "Queued"?

[Android Central Question]

I am trying to send a photo to an email address. I opened the photo and selected "share" and inserted the email address to which I desire to send the photo. However, the message is repeatedly sent to "Queued," but not to the address indicated. Why might this be?

Welcome to Android Central! How big is the photo? Does this happen on both wi-fi and mobile data?

The you sure the actual email isn't just queued and your email app is waiting until certain criteria is met before sending, for example waiting until you connect to Wi-Fi?
