Why is facebook is lagging and crashing on galaxy J1 ace

So I've tried using many old versions of Facebook app on my J1 ace phone, it keeps lagging and crashing, especially when I open an external link which takes me to the internal browser. The phone is not rooted, flashed or had any funny business. It's brand new, I got it immediately out of the box

Welcome to the forums. The app may not be optimized for your phone. Many people have complained that Facebook eats a lot of memory (probably a lot more than it should), and have reported that going on your browser tends to be a better experience.

I would recommend uninstalling FB and using the browser. The FB app slows down the phone, eats data, eats memory and is a battery hog.

Use the browser or use an app like Tinfoil or SlimSocial for Facebook, which are basically shortcuts to the browser app
