Why is facebook suddenly causing my phone to reboot?

Every time I open the Facebook app my phone reboots. I remember just before this started Facebook updated itself. I tried uninstalling the updates and then reupdating through the Play Store. I also tried clearing Facebook's cache and data, I rebooted in safe mode, and I cleared the cache partition. None of these helped. I'm reluctant to try doing a factory reset, not sure it will even help. Is the update the problem or is there something else I should be doing? Also, it only happens on my new phone, an LG X Charge, not on my old phone, a ZTE Warp 7.

Yes, I think it was a problem with the update. Yesterday I updated it again thru the play store. I opened it and it rebooted. I closed it, opened it later and it was fine. No more problems so far. Thank you for your help.

After 3 Facebook updates it finally stopped completely.
