Why is Facebook sync turned off on my Galaxy S6 Active?

Why is Facebook sync turned off on my galaxy s6 active?

When I go to my accounts to sync my Facebook info with my phone it says that sync is turned off and I don't have the option to turn it on. It's grayed out when I select more in the top right corner. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Facebook but it didn't help. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! This probably has to do with the fact that Facebook recently changed their API to remove the ability to sync contacts.
