Almost everytime I leave an application or just hit the home button from somewhere else I get the dreaded whit screen with the green HTC and then it says loading.....
Does anyone know if this is a Sprint fix or HTC fix?
When this happens is it in fact reading sense?
Has anyone gotten any official answers from either Sprint or HTC?

Sounds like a bug that's causing a memory leak. You can try limiting your widgets, that might help for now... but your probably going to have wait for a patch to be pushed out before it's completely fixed.

Yup, getting the same issue almost every time. I also have 40mb taken from my main storage since the gingerbread update and I cannot figure out where the additional space went!

Thanks for the widget tip. I stopped the weatherbug and calander widgets I had running and it seems better.

Waiting to hear from HTC

I have the same issue, but only spradically. Immediately after the upgrade, I was getting it a lot. Now, it seems, I only get it when I've changed something that is apparently controlled by Sense. For instance, if I change a background, etc. Now that I pretty much have my phone the way I want it, I rarely get the loading condition. I sent an inquiry to HTC about this issue, via their Forum, but haven't received a reply.

Disappearing memory

I lost about that amount of memory too, right after the download. After trying several things, I finally did a restart, then I turned it off for a few minutes and removed the battery. After replacing the battery and booting up, the lost memory was back. In fact, I gained a little more memory. Try this and see what happens.

I have this happen on a few occasions. Mostly after I install/uninstall certain apps or mess around with my theme settings. Sometimes if I click through a whole mess of screens or play a game for a long period of time it does it as well. But it never takes more then a second to reload so I'm not bother by it.

Before it was every once in a while, now it crashes all the time. Starting to be pain, especially if you need to call someone.

What is irritating me is when I switch to something else while web browsing, when I come back it has closed any multiple windows I had open, and forces a reload of the window that had focus last.

Turn off fast boot...that helped a lot of my problem...as well as a hard reset!

Done the Hard Reset, spent the day at the Sprint store, they are clueless, went back home with a phone that still has all these HTC Sense Slow Reloading issues & crashes!

Still Does Not Work Right! I spent the day with this, only loaded the stock apps & still has all these issues....

HTC & Sprint dropped the ball on this water-downed version of Gingerbread..

At the XDA developers forum they are saying its a memory leak with HTC Sense, being too aggressive with the cache & other...

They better get a fix out quick cuz you can not go back to 2.2

They are not being to supportive of their customers as well.

I just went from the EVO to the EVO Shift (needed keyboard) and have the issue when I upgraded to the 2.3 update. I did the hard reset and turned off fast boot and haven't had it since. Not to say I wont, but there is hope.

I am curious why sprint won't release the patch for the EVO Shift that they did for the EVO last Monday...

How long does it take the phone to boot with fast boot on vs. off? If all it takes is turning off fast boot (and it's a minimal increase in time) then hopefully it's not a big deal. My Epic turns on in 30-45 seconds.... is that about what the Shift does it in with fast boot off?

With fastboot on it takes maybe 10 seconds, with it off it probably takes 1 to 2 minutes.. depending on how many apps you have.

I've seen a few other report unchecking fastboot then rebooting seems help.

I have it all the time multiple times per day and it is driving me nuts. Just turned off the fast boot and did a battery pull. hope that helps.:-\

Thats just the way of things. Even thought the shift is nearly the same phone and 6-7 months newer the og evo is still more important. Now with the 3d I fear we will get no love now...
