Why is HTC 8 not supported on Google Play

As above HTC i sno longer supported on Google Play rendering it a phone - no longer a smart phone (even if it is five years old)

What do you mean by not being supported on play? Are you not able to install apps? If that's the case, then choose apps have been advanced beyond what the phone can handle without severe performance issues.

But unless something happened disabling everything but the dialer, it's still a smartphone.
