Why is it when you block a spam caller And they call back Your phone still rings?

Have you thought of just not answering and instead dismiss the call? If it is someone you what to talk to, they should leave a message. Personally, if I don't recognize the number, I don't answer.

I can see how it'd be a pain, though, especially if your number is being inundated by spam calls. It'd be nice for the phone app to recognize or suspect spam, and not even ring (which is what the Google Phone app does on Pixels).

With me having myeloma. I sleep a lot.
When the phone rings.
It wakes me up.

I had Verizon to totally turn off voice mail.
If I missed your call.
I don't want a message.
I want it so when the phone rings. If I block the call.
The phone don't ring and bother me.

Went to do not disturb, turned it on.
Opened it up and only allowed contacts to call or text.

I had just got home from treatment.
One of the contacts started texting.
Had to block him so I could get some sleep.

Thanks for the suggestions

To drill down even further, you could also allow calls from Starred Contacts only, if there are a few very important contacts you would never want to miss a call or text from.

your post really does not make sense. block someone in google? are you talking about calls or email? or are you talking about two different things? or are you using google voice?

Does make sense.
I have computers calling me over and over.
I have people calling me..they want to sell me Medicare and everything else.

Then I get emails, at least 100 a day.
Or young women that love me.
And want to meet me.

If you can use do not disturb, except your contacts.
And the phone and messages don't come threw on a call.
Why can't you do it with emails too.

What I need is for the hospital to be able to contact me at any time.
They got all kinds of phone numbers too.

That is why I needed to block individual phone calls.

I've had a pixel phone.
I like how the Samsung operates better.
I get best buy to turn off Bixby.
So nothing I do or press brings up Bixby.
Its easier to get help with Samsung phones if you have a problem.
I need to get the blue back glass on my note 10+ replaced now.
When I traded my last phone in at Best Buy.
The lady had it up to the light. Looking at it carefully.
I said I can go to the car and get a hammer.
You won't need to look at it any more.
You act like the phone is going in your pocket.
Dsuym I can pay full price for the phone.

Follow these steps.
Sign up for Google Voice and get your number

On your computer, go to voice.google.com.

Sign in to your Google Account.

After reviewing the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, tap Continue.

Search by city or area code for a number. Voice doesn't offer 1-800 numbers. ...

Next to the number you want, click Select.
Good luck

might make sense to you since you are the one who wrote it but your sentence and paragraph style made it a confused mess to me. that is why I asked questions for clarification.

My fault man.
I'm a stem cell survivor.
My brain has been burnt up.
Please forgive me.
Thank You.

You are wasting your time blocking numbers. Most of the scammers call from real phone numbers that they spoofed. Just don't answer, and let it go to voicemail. What I do is answer my phone with my name and they think I'm a business, which I am, 95% of the time they hang up.
