Why is Media audio not showing up as an option for bluetooth settings for my radio?

I've seen variations of this question a bit, but I recently got the Razer Phone and have been having issues connecting it to bluetooth on my car radio. I have the Kenwood ddx771, and had no issues connecting my old phone (the Note 5) to it. But basically with this phone, the option to connect media audio doesn't show up at all. I'm not sure how to even tackle this, but I've tried the basics of unpairing, repairing, turning off both devices, etc. Could it possibly be a firmware issue for my radio?

Welcome to Android Central! I assume the firmware for the head unit is up to date: Support | DDX771 | Navigation and Multimedia | CAR ENTERTAINMENT | KENWOOD USA.

Are you able to have the head unit forget paired devices as well? If so, make sure all devices have been deleted from the head unit's memory, then try the pairing process again.
