Why is music pulldown tab mostly blank?

My Galaxy s9 recently updated to Pie. Ever since then if I want to skip a song or close out of the music program (that comes standard with the phone) the pulldown menu is mostly blank. It shows the song title, less than half of the artist name, and none of the buttons (skip backward, pause/play/skip forward, exit). The buttons are there, and when I tap on one it briefly shows up. Then it disappears again. I did some preliminary Google searches on this issue, but so far I haven't found any advice. Thanks in advance for the help

Change the phone theme to the default one and see if it works. Maybe your current theme ia not working properly on pie.

Sounds like incompatible theme. There are lots after Pie update.

So I had this issue when I was on the Pie beta. Same thing happened (though it the buttons never showed at all). Had to wait for the music player app update.
