Why is my alarm ringtone silent after the latest software update?

Several apps on my phone were updated yesterday. Something caused the sound volume for my alarm to become inaudible. I checked the sound settings in all the places I could think of to see if anything had been changed, but I found nothing wrong. My ringtone for my alarm is silent, but the vibration does work. Has anyone else experienced this same problem recently?

Check the alarm tone that you've chosen. Choose it and tap it again, to see if you can hear it when choosing it. (Sometimes an update will mess up the name of the alarm tone file, and you'll end up with numbers - then you just have to choose the alarm tone again. The same with notifications and ringtones.)
