Why is my batter life so horrible on my Galaxy S5?

Galaxy S5 Battery life horrible on low signal

Hello! Recently I have been noticing my galaxy s5 would run out of battery MULTIPLE times a day!! I tried deleting many apps, even Facebook and Vine. I changed my launcher to Nova launcher and nothing. The battery life is terrible. I loose about 5% in 10-15 minutes while signal is on, but when I turn on airplane mode, the battery lasts hours before even going down 5%. I don't know what to do! I'm on sprint and running the latest update, android 5.0

As you can see, when I had airplane mode, my battery bearly went down for hours.
Just three minutes after taking that screenshot, the battery went down 2%!! My current screen on time is just 1 hour and 49 minutes! And I always leave it on auto.

A low signal (and from your graph, you do seem to have terrible coverage throughout the day) is usually very battery-draining. It's your phone basically yelling to reach the carrier's towers and straining its ears to hear what the tower has to say.

Does it happen when you're in good coverage areas?

I don't know if it occurs there too as I live in a new area and I'm not sure it that could be the reason for the bad signal. Is there anyway I could improve signal myself?

There are signal boosters cases that 'amplify' your antenna's reach, or some carriers offer signal-boosting equipment or if available, you could switch to WiFi calling instead of using the carrier's signal.
