Why is my battery charging for long life of battery?

battery charging for long life of battery

This may sound like a silly question but I have found so many different answer's to it. I from 0%-100% or 20%-80%. Normal charging or is it best to always trickle charge it from say my computer. And is it safe to charge it over night with the dedicated charger or a wireless charger?
Any help with this would be great. Thanks
