Why is my battery dying with 50 charge on it?

Battery died, after 1 minute plugged on charger, 50% battery

Hi, yesterday my battery died and when I got home, I plugged the charger, 1 minute later there was a 50% battery on it.

I've been noticing that the battery is draining fast. My mobile data is on, but the only thing that refreshes automatically is WhatsApp. According to my phone the battery usage:

Screen 52%
Google Services 13%
Cell Standby 9%
Device Idle 8%

My screen is pretty much always on 0%. (or the lowest it can be). What should be the problem of my phone? I've been using it since May. As I said, battery died and suddenly it had 50% on.

Welcome to Android Central! That certainly could mean a failing battery. Try a new battery.

Try recalibrating the battery if you can
