why is my battery life draining so fast in Nexus 5?

I bought Nexus 5 around 7-8 months back. I have Android 5.1 updated. But still my battery life is too worse. Could you please help. Will cynogenmod help in providing better battery life?

Before going any further, what do your battery usage stats reveal as the main users of charge?
Also, what is your signal strength like?

Also also, have you been charging the battery while there is still about 40% of charge remaining - which is a good way to do it - or have you been discharging much lower before recharging?

The Nexus 5 is a very high quality device but it has never been known for impressive battery life. But it certainly is not so bad as to render the device unusable, so perhaps we can work out the best options in your case.
