why is my battery taking 3 hours to charge now on Marshmallow?

I have an LG G4 which has always been a very fast charge. Today, under the newly installed 6.0, it's taken 3 hours to do a 1/2 battery charge. HELP

Hi. Welcome to the AC forums!

Your charging time should not have changed at all with the MM update. Question ... are you using the stock charger or a 3rd party charger? If 3rd party, is it a fast charger? Besides this, you may want to try powering off your phone, charging in an off state and see if it charges normally.

Sounds like something is running rogue and chewing up battery and preventing the phone from charging.

Also, if the phone is getting too hot while charging, the thermal threshold will be hit and charging speed will be reduced to control the heat.

My battery life was great before the update, is terrible now!

Whenever I had encountered a rogue app or poor battery life due to an update. I rebooted my phone in safe mode and charged it to full prior to restarting it. This logs off many of your apps and you slowly figure out what is causing battery drain problems. For me it was BBM.
