Why my contact list is not syncing once i have updated to android lollipop

I have installed the android update for lollipop...from then my contacts are not appearing in my phone book and sync fails

Hi, go into settings, accounts, Google - locate the contact option, is it turned on? if it isn't then turn it on

Remove and add your account back. You may want to use another app to temporarily backup your contacts to not lose any recent changes that's not backed up with Google.
