Contacts App intermittently very very slow
Hi All,
I have a new unrooted Xperia Z2. I have 4,000 contacts (with maybe 1,000 that came from linking to Exchange and LinkedIn). At times, the Contacts app behaves like normal, speedy and showing the records as I type out the name in the Search box. However, at times, it takes a few minutes(!) to retrieve the record and when I choose that record it can take a few minutes for the content to display!!
When I disable WiFi and Mobile Data, the Contacts app can become quick again. But when I open and close different apps, and then go back to Contacts app, the response can become slow again. So, even if WiFi and Mobile Data, I have seen that slow behavior.
I don't have Contacts sync-ed with Google Contacts.
I don't have any task killer installed.
I guess my questions are:
1/ Is there something wrong with my phone?
2/ Is the Contacts app really not meant to have 4,000 contacts?
3/ Should I really disable linkages in Contacts and have records only in the phone app without any link to the Cloud/Internet?
4/ Is there any way I can dedicate RAM to Contacts app so that it leaves the database in RAM and not waste time in loading database each time?
Someone suggested I remove the Google account and then add it back again. I will try that and see if it works. I am skeptical because I do not link or back up my contacts to Google.
Thanks for any help!
