why is my download speed so slow on my nexus?
Short story: my nexus 7 suddenly slowed way down in download speeds a little while ago. I was getting upwards of 1mbps always. Then one day (without any new apps or changes, Im pretty sure) it suddenly never gets above 800 kbps.
I recently acquired a google nexus 7 tablet from a friend. Its the original 16 gig 2012 model and it's currently running 4.4.4 it is NOT rooted and I only download apps from Google play, I do not download from any other app stores. When I received the tablet it was already reset but I did my own factory reset before using it. Everything worked fine for the first 4 months of use. No problems at all. In the last few weeks I noticed my downloads were exceedingly slow. Never going over 1mbps. I did numerous Google searches for fixes and most of them were for the new OS lollipop but I didn't update because I saw the new layout and hated it. Any other fixes I tried did not work and aren't worth going into detail over. It is always erratic also, going from 700kbps then dropping to 30kbps and staying there for a few minutes before jumping back up. Everything else I use downloads fine, my computer and ps3 are the same speeds as always so it doesn't appear to be my network. its not just my network either I use public wifi and WiFi at friends and the tablet still never gets above 1mbps.
