Why is my Galaxy S5 automatically typing when I use the keyboard?

Hi- as I type, my keyboard buttons occasionally visibly activate other keys and prevent me from pressing any other buttons. It self types a few random letters or just stalls. My screen is also switching from one to another, or just slides half across even when the screen is not being touched. I have Lollipop, and am not aware of any recent updates on any major stuff. It,s not been dropped or got wet. really weird....anybody had the same?

Do you have the phone in a case, or do you have a screen protector on it? Those things can cause some strange problems.

No, no cover or case and it still happens. Runs fine for a while then randomly starts auto typing, and keyboard is non-responsive to touch. Sometimes typing goes on for 30 secs, and cant even use the back button....happens in any app where I need to type
Poltergeist or software glitch but blooming annoying....
Any ideas?

You could try wiping the keyboards cache and data in case that is causing a problem. See #1.5 of S5 Lollipop Update Problems - Dummies Guide for instructions on this. Failing that, you could install a 3rd party keyboard, such as the excellent SwiftKey Keyboard + Emoji, free from the Play Store.

Thanks, tried the former with no effect.
Just received phone back from service and repair from Vodafone, with it apparently 'sorted', and exactly the same happening within few hours of reusing it....
