Why is my Google Now App crashing so much?

Google Now App Crashes

First off, I apologize if this is in the wrong place. I'm obviously new to the forum.

My problem is that I can open Google Now and it works properly, until I go to settings and change any setting. Once a setting has been changed and I say OK Google and try to use voice search I get the message "Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped working."

This happens every time and without fail. Does anyone have any suggestions? I can clear the app data and it will go back to working as long as I don't change a setting.

Welcome to Android Central! What device do you have? Does it have any other voice-controlled search, like S-Voice or Moto Voice Assistant?

I am having the same issue after my Moto X 2nd Gen updated to Lollipop. Anytime I launch an app, it is displaying 'Unfortunately, google search has stopped'
