Why is my Google Pixel not playing through Fiat 500 USB Blue&Me?

I've tried to connect my Google Pixel using the Blue&Me USB to play Spotify, it was fine with my iPhone 6s, but now I have an Android device it doesn't like it.

Could it be that my Google Pixel has USBC?

Is there a way round this, other than buying a different car (Fiat garage were very helpful *rolls eyes*)

Thanks :-)

I believe Apple has specific profile that allows it to play music over USB connection and android does not.
Ive seen this question asked with other android devices and people using a usb connector to play music with apple and failing on android.

Were you able to pair your phone with the car?

If so, go to Settings -> Bluetooth -> tap the gear icon to the right of the Fiat entry -> make certain that Phone audio and Media audio are both checked.

He is not talking about Bluetooth Pairing, he is talking about USB music play through.

To the OP, if you have the option of using BT try that.

Oops! I missed that. :)

no problem. its easy to miss since almost everyone with android use Bluetooth for streaming music.
At times i do envy the ability of apple devices to be able to link up so easily via usb but im happy with what i have.

Lol. What's so "easy" about linking up via USB?

I get in my car, hit the ignition button, and a few seconds later my phone - typically still in my front pocket - has linked to the car's audio system via Bluetooth.

How could anything be easier than that? :)

well not everyone leaves their phones in their pocket.
I use a car mount. I also plug it in most of the time. So for you its not, for me it would be an additional convenience. Plus the audio quality would be better over a wired connection. Again for those that prefer higher quality audio.
