Why is my home screen not working?

[AC Question]

I have three screens for my folders and apps the second screen(middle screen) is set as my homepage, but when I download an app it creates a shortcut on the screen to the left of my homepage. I have tried switching the screens, checking settings, and restarting how do I fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Does its launcher have an app drawer? If so, why not just manually add the shortcut where you prefer?
