why is my lg realm (LS620) not get past configuring your phone at startup?

[Android Central Question]

i need this phone and my little brother rooted it and deleted the hands free activation thing
At first i was relieved because hfa was gone and it was a PAIN and then he reset the phone and it kept crashing and showing "Configuring your phone" forever
please help!

Welcome to Android Central! You probably need to reinstall the stock firmware. Ask your brother to do it, since he messed it up to begin with.

I made an android central account and I got a 4gb sd card for putting the stock firmware on . Should i extract it or keep it as a .zip?

After putting it in (sdcard) and going into recovery mode on the realm. It says "E:failed to mount /sdcard (Invalid Argument)" and i am confused. Did i reformat it right? what filesystem should I use? i run Linux mint 19.2 on my pc

Usually on Samsung phones with sd card update you leave it zip.
