I have a Samung Galaxy Tab A, I recently put in an SD card for the first time now my miscellaneous data is over 800 MB. This is infuriating, because I can not view what is taking up the space. How can I delete this unwanted data? BTW On average is typically have around 400 MB of miscellaneous data.

Most applications create some data even if you only use it once and uninstall. I occasionally go through the list of applications installed, and check the data (or "storage") used for the applications I use, and delete the data or cache for the ones I don't use much, like the Microsoft applications (Word used 200 MB after viewing a few .txt files.)

A favourite app for building up large amounts of data is Google photos. The data and cache in Google photos can be safely deleted, next time you open Google photos your photos will repopulate the app using less data, this can take a few minutes depending on how many photos you have.
