Why is my Motorola Droid X losing time?

why is my motorola droid x losing time?

Google play and all my apps including the phone dialer freeze up or don't respond. I noticed that the time is slow on the phone so I reset the time manually and over the course of an hour it loses a couple of minutes. I set the time to network provided and it does the same thing. I read on another Q & A something about loose screws in the back of phone and some other mechanical/technical suggestions. Since I don't know what I am doing........plz help a green-horn out!

Whoa..a phone that old has to have alzheimers by now.

Is this a wifi only device or has active service? I've seen sometimes where WIFI only devices have this issue..
