Why is my Nexus 5 not booting up and stuck at the Google logo?

Hi Guys,

I have a serious issue with my Nexus 5 all of a sudden. My phone wouldn't boot up and is stuck at the google logo and would not go further no matter how long i wait. I tried going to the recovery mood which i did but when i selected recovery mode using the vol up and down keys to navigate and hit on power button nothing happened,just a blank screen. I can soft reset or hard reset my phone. All i see is a blank screen if i try doing a soft or a hard reset and if i try to power on normally all i see is the Google logo.

Using Android 4.4.4
No rooted

I cant figure out if this is a software issue or a hardware issue. I read a few posts about people talking about the power button. The power button seems to be all fine. Please help...

THanks for that Diddy , I have already tried getting into the recovery, as soon as i tap the power button after selecting recovery the screen goes blank. I don't see any dead android on the screen.

had the same problem(mine was soft-bricked)....i used this toolkit, it's easy like making a peanutbutter sandwich it doesn't matter if you are rooted or not -

you have all the steps listed on the site,after you dowload the NRT_v1.8.8.sfx.exe, you have to
select your device and android version(4.4.4) it will download the stock image , you power off your device, then you press the power on and volume down AT THE SAME TIME until you enter the bootloader, connect your device via usb to the computer, select 'Soft bricked/bootloop and press "FLASH STOCK + UNROOT"

if you have problems you can 'quote', maybe i'll be able to help you if you can't manage to do it

the downside is that you will loose all data on the device,but it's the price to pay if you want a functional device, cheers.
