why is my Note 4 unable to connect with my Gear S?

I've paired the two devices, but when I try to connect via the Samsung Gear app, nothing happens. Any idea what's going wrong here?

First, make sure your BT connection is turned on in Settings > Connections. If properly paired, it should connect automatically. If it doesn't, I would delete Gear Manager, then reinstall it. Reset your S and re-pair the devices. In fact, you may want to do that before the other stuff.
