Why is my phone/battery acting weird after update?

[Android Central Question]

I have a Galaxy J8 and was avoiding updating to Android Pie due to a lot of complaints i've heard, but with Android 10 coming out i decided to go for it. Unlike most complaints, i didn't notice my battery draining any faster instead something weird happened. Yesterday i went to sleep and left my phone turned off and charging. Woke up and it still had 23% to go, which was already weird enough considering it spent the whole night charging but it got weirder when i looked at it again and it said the charger wasn't connected, when it was. So i turned it on and it was 100% charged. This is the first time i try charging my phone turned off after the update. I charged it turned on and none of this happened. What could it be?

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry, it's not clear to me -- is the battery back to normal now? You mentioned at the end, "I charged it turned on and none of this happened."
