Why is my phone fast after I restored my backup?

Hello

My S5 Galaxy became quite slow. It froze now and then, bad responsiveness, particular when Google Playstore did updates, or even only check for updates.

I decided to root my phone and installed a custom rom. Resurrection Remix. Before I did a complete backup with TWRP.

After I lost my patience with Resurrection (2 hours later lol) I restored my backup. Well, since then, my phone runs like a charm. Fast, stable and so on.

But why is it that way? I thought everything would be back to the previous state. So, something has changed. Might it be the boot loader? TWRP is still installed and I'll leave it there. I also won't unroot the phone. So what actually changed to the phone?

I cleared the cache anyway sometimes. It helped for a while. Now it seems it's permanent. Even when I have a huge list of apps in the task list. Switching between them is fast.

If the problem was with bad cached data, doing a factory reset and then just restoring the data probably help get rid of that.

Interesting, I would have thought to wipe the cache by booting and hold volume+, power and home button would have the same effect. Well, may be this is helpful for other users too.
