Why is my S3 useless?

I was wondering if anyone else if having this problem

My Galaxy S3 will not do anything. I closed the screen and it never came back up. It doesn't notify me if it is charging with the LED, and it will not turn on no matter what I do. It is almost as if the hardware decided today was a good day to stop working permanently. I don't know if anyone else has encountered this problem.

Welcome to Android Central! Have you already tried a new or different battery? If that doesn't work, it may just have been a total hardware failure.

I have tried another battery and nothing changed. Still the same problem. My only qualm is that I have owned it for just barely over a year and I don't think that I have insurance on it anymore. I am going to go my closest store tomorrow and see what I can do. Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I deeply appreciate it.

Ok, good luck! If they can't help, it doesn't hurt to contact Samsung support as well.

What model/firmware was it?

How long did you leave the battery out? You might try ten minutes or so. And once you reinsert the battery, don't attempt to power it on; instead, just connect a charger and see if the battery graphic appears.
