I've had a galaxy s5 for about 5 months. Recently i connected it to its charger (the one it came with, so it's definitely Samsung-compatible) and it gave me the "unable to charge" pop up. I tried I different charger from a different power source and got the same result. My phone will soon be dead without any way to charge.
Thank you for any help!

I had a Casio military grade phone do that to me and I was very irked.
spent way too much on that thing, and it crapped out in 3 months.

For a hurry up fix, find a retail store and buy a portable battery charger w/spare battery.

for a real fix, get a Qi wireless charger so you don't need the USB port anymore.

but, the phone is still under warranty, so I would 1st stop by your carrier and politely complain that "this ain't right folks" and see if they will give you a new phone.

I agree with those suggestions. Chances are that the charging port has been damaged in some way. You mentioned in your PM to me that the charge port cover broke off recently--that would increase the possibility of debris or possibly moisture getting in there and causing issues.

Hi,I have the same trouble. But I solved the trouble.
I tried:1 Go to recovery mode and wipe the cache partition. 2 Go to recovery mode and do a factory reset ( backup copy of data is needed). 3 Replaced battery and charger and usb cable ......
But still problem.
When I finally despair, I try to clean the charging port of the phone,
Warning! To avoid the risk of damaging the phone, First remove the battery!!! Using a fine needle gently clean the dirt and debris, Then using a can of compressed air or Air Blower Cleaner and Lens Brush(camera cleaning kit).
I solved this issue.
This approach can help you look forward to.
