my s7 edge has been running on 7.0 for a while now and all my mates that have the s7 have 8.0? any reasons why this might be? its on tesco mobile and the uk

Sometimes the carrier has an influence on when the updates are available. Maybe your mates are using a different carrier than Tesco?
My Moto G5 is still on 7 and no indication of when it will be updated to 8.1. Not too fussed as 7 is working fine.
