Why is my Samsung Gear Circle volume not working correctly on my Nexus 6P?

I connected it to an older lg g2, and I tried it on my samsung tab 3. It works on these devices, but it refuses to raises the volume on my nexus 6p. Very very frustrating.

There's some recurring BT bug that Google is failing to resolve. I have the LG Tones and volume adjustment is a lil iffy, although it is better after the January update except for certain instances.
