Why is my screen not working?

[AC Question]

I upgraded to Android 7 on my s6 edge plus and the screen isn't working like before. I press the lock button or home button to bring up the unlock screen and its just black. After a few tries it works but this Is very inconvenient. Even restarting the phone wont work. Is this due to the update?

Welcome to Android Central! What do you mean that the screen is just black? Are you able to get into your phone at all?
