why is my tab 2 s battery draining so rapidly.?

Since 2 days my tablet is malfunctioning. At times it charges rapidly at times doesn't charge at all. Charging 46% &very next moment it shows fully charged. Eventhough fully charged, the battery is completely drained in max 10 mins. At times it shows 46secs on battery when 100% charged. Moreover, it ask to insert sim when da power is low, n cuts off data applications.

Kindly help me resolve the issue.. I only use standard galaxy tab2 charger.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have the Tab 2, or the Tab S2? This is important, because the Tab 2 is pretty old, which means your battery might be failing. The Tab S2 is a very new device, so in that case I'd be more concerned about a defect.
