Why is my Tablet blinking/flashing?

Tablet is blinking/flashing

My tablet is less than 6 months old and for the last month or so I have noticed that it blinks out randomly. Is there a fix or should I replace it.

Welcome to Android Central! Which tablet? What do you mean by blinking out? Does the tablet power down completely on its own? Is it only the screen that is turning off? Does the screen come back on by itself?

I apologize for not being clear. I have a Galaxy S Tab 10.5. It isn't losing power, the screen blinks out, as if its blinking at me. sometimes it does come back on right away and sometimes I have to hit the power button. It comes right back to the same place so I don't lose any work, it can be a real pain.

Is Smart Stay on? If so, the screen might be turning off when it detects that you're not looking at it. Also, make sure nothing that generates a magnetic field is nearby--that could trigger the smartcover sensor, which puts the screen to sleep.
