I have a samsung tab A (T585). To give a bit of history, during normal operation I was getting random restarts doing nothing special in particular, internet even on the home screen.

Did a factory reset, and after apps started coming on it reappeared. Cleared the cache, it didn't help.

Next step i put it in safe mode. And the tablet did not restart for 4+ days, but it wasn't under heavy use. I looked in device management and saw a little gap this morning assuming it has restarted.

I have gone and grabbed a last_KMSG and would appreciate some assistance in working out why it has restarted. My next option was to reset it by flashing with ODIN

You don't think it might simply be a troublesome third-party app?

The fact that it most likely didn't happen in Safe Mode still points to some app you installed that's causing problems. You may just have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem goes away. I don't think you can conclude that the little gap you saw meant it restarted. But if you do confirm that it restarts on its own in Safe Mode, then the problem may have more to do with the firmware or the hardware. If the firmware is corrupt, a factory reset doesn't necessarily fix that, since you're still using the corrupt firmware. You may have to try reinstalling the firmware manually using Smart Switch or Odin.
