There is no app that can speed up your phone. If a phone is experiencing lag, adding to it isn't the solution.

Actually if he used Smart Switch to set it up or restored from Google, the best thing is to find reset and set it up as a new device.

I'm just saying I'm reading everywhere that the note 7 is lagging like crazy. He barely has any apps installed too it's super weird and disappointing

When he got it has nothing to do with it being set up as a new device.

You can get it out of the box and use Smart Switch or restore it from your previous phone and it isn't set up as a new device.

Google gives the option of setting up as a new device or restoring.

What does "Lag" mean?
Does the device itself act slow or sluggish or is it in surfing and downloading?
For giggles, under Developer options, locate
1. Window animation scale
2. Transition animation scale
3. Animator duration scale
and change the settings to 0.5x.

He didn't use smart switch. It was setup as a new device less than a week ago with about 17 apps downloaded. It lags when unlocking the screen. Simple things that it shouldn't lag for when it's this new. He's pretty disappointed. I would be too. They needed more ram for all the stuff that's running

They have plenty of RAM. RAM on a phone is not like RAM on a computer.

Then he has an issue with his phone or an app causing it.

Has he run it on safe mode to determine if it is an app or the phone?

Yeah no offense but you're defending an issue that is pretty widespread . the phone needs a new battery so it doesn't explode and a software upgrade to stop the lagging
