Question Smartphone had a loud sound when the screen got grey and restart itself.

Had a problem.

Got this phone's screen blanked out and had this loud sound, before it greyed, then restarted itself. I think it is a hardware problem, and I have had this overheating problem. I had little to no money to buy a new one. Ik this is an old phone, but I was hoping to keep this phone a little longer before I can buy a newer one.

Does it work well enough when the battery is being charged? If it does, it may be worth backing up your personal data, unless already done, as an insurance against complete failure. And, if it does work well enough, it may be that a replacement battery would fix it, though it does indeed sound like failure of other hardware.
