Why is Samsung Rewards the default homepage in Chrome?

Try this:
Open Chrome
Add and go to a new tab
go to settings (three dot on the address bar - far right) tap to open
Tap settings this opens the'basics' tab
Tap homepage
Uncheck default (small checkbox)
put 'Google.com' into address box
Back key off settings page
close chrome
reopen

Voila!

Not sure if this has been resolved for you or not but I finally realized that chrome isn't the "default" browser on Samsung tablets. The stock browser is actually the one that's simply called Internet, chrome basically just takes the homepage settings from it. If you launch "Internet", in the top right, it will have its own options, one of which should be settings. Select this and in there you should see the settings for the homepage which you can then change to whatever you want. Once changed here chrome will then also use the same homepage. It's sort of similar to the way chrome uses internet explorer settings on a Windows pc. Anyway hope this helps.

It seems all of the Kit Kats that I have seen from Samsung have come with the Samsung Page being the default Chrome homepage. The Tablet version at least can be set through the 'settings'..... Bloatware?, Anyone???

Everytime I close Chrome (which was pre-installed) I make sure to close all the tabs first.
However, When I relaunch Chrome, the homepage is some Samsung rewards page. Is this with everyone? Is there a known fix?
I would not be surprised if this is part of the Samsung OS. Annoying, its not even a helpful page.

This reply is a bit late in the game but there IS a way to set a default home page for Chrome mobile, but only if your Chrome version has the Home button in the browser bar. Some versions/ devices DO have it and others don’t.

To set a default Home page, go into Settings and tap “Home Page (“On” or “Off”)” and then tap on “Open this page” and you can edit the URL for the page you want set as your Home page, and then hit “Save” of course.

That's it--easy but not obvious.
