Android Central Question

I have just recently switched from a Samsung S7 edge to a Samsung Note 9. All my apps and games transferred over no problem except for one. Cookie Jam. When I tried to install it, it tells me it is not compatible with my device. I've cleared my cache for Google play store and I've emailed the developers and they've said it's not their issue.

Welcome to Android Central! Which Cookie Jam game? There are a lot of different games in the Play Store with the phrase "Cookie Jam" in the name.

Also, are you certain you installed Cookie Jam on your S7 edge through the Play Store? I recall a Cookie Jam game that I installed as a free Amazon Underground game, so if that's the case, it's possible there's some discrepancy in the game versions between the Play Store and the Amazon Appstore.

It was me that posted this before I signed up.

It's the original cookie jam game from jam city but not cookie jam blast and it was definitely through play store.

I have attached a screenshot.

When everything transferred over this was the only one that didn't and it sat in the play store under not on this device in the library under the my apps & games tab.

Hmm, that shows as being compatible with all of my devices. It might be a regional restriction. Did you get your Note9 directly from your carrier, or did you order it online from a 3rd party seller? If it's the international version, maybe that might cause an incompatibility.

I got it directly from my carrier off their website. Its really frustrating me to be honest.
I had no problems on my s7 edge and gone to a bigger screen and now this.

I have a Note9 is the US. If I go in to the Play Store and search for this game it does not come up at all, only the Blast one does. If I go to internet and search it will come up in the Play Store via a link and says it is not compatible. Says it came out in 2014. My best guess is they have retired this game from the Play Store in favor of the Blast game.

It still shows up for me, though, and it's installable on my Pixel 2 XL running Pie, so it's definitely not an OS version issue.

I had it on mine, I guess a hold out from previous phones. Then I tried to update and it said it's not compatible. Someone suggested Amazon app and it worked for them. But I lost everything and it's glitchy. I gave up.

You could try contacting the dev. We have a hardware consideration here. It shows up on phones including my S9 as compatible, except for both versions of Note 9 mentioned here. But it installs from Amazon. It could be a model restriction in the app manifest.
Also what did you use to transfer? I'd have to expect the app to have moved if you use the Sidesync feature.

I had that problem before. Never did figure it out. But it was with my Huawei 7in phone. Good luck.

I've email the dev and also Samsung. I will update you all with what they come back with. I used smart switch so I have the app on my phone but says needs to update and then says this version is not compatible with the device. I can only assume the app doesn't like the screen size or resolution. Other jam city games work perfectly fine on my device just this one. When I search for it in the play store it doesn't come up either.
