Why is the new unlimited data plan showing up as $170($110+$16)for my 2-line account?
Line one is currently the old UDP plan and line two is a dumbphone with no data.

Please see the attached screenshot. (left column shows what I'm currently paying,
while right column shows what I'll pay if I switch to the new unlimited data plan)

Thanks!

It's most likely because one of your lines are in contract. Kinda of like how they charge people 40 for line access on contract 20 if you have none.

I'm probably a very stupid person if I switch from my current UDP to the new UDP, right? :)

Even after I'm out of contract and not subject to the additional access fee, the new UDP plan
will be $32 more than what my current old UDP plan costs. ($140 vs $108)
I switched and I had 4 unlimited data plans, but my bill is dropping $150 a month with $100 more coming because I have 5 lines in contract ending this year. My average is 20 gigs anyway so I should be fine

interesting... can you show me how that math works out? :)
Call in and they can show you.

I have 2 lines out of contract paying the $50, and 2 lines paying the $30 rate as they are under contract.

I have a total of 8 lines and 1 home connect for home line that's $20.

Pricing is

$110 for family plan starting point

$20 each line out of contract

$40 each line in contract.

So I have 5 lines under contract, that is $200

3 lines out of contract, that is $60

1 home connect $20

$110
$200..5 lines in contract
$60... 3 line out of contract
$20....1 home connect
$93....3 device payments.
$35....Estimated taxes
-------------
$518 grand total

My bill this month was a total of $672.

Savings of $154 right now, and as the contracts end it will drop $20 each contract, I have 5. One drops end of this month, 4 more by December and one next January. So another $100 will drop when all the contracts are over.

I was on the phone with several reps, probably 6 different ones and these are the numbers, the computer is even showing my estimated bill at $520 with new plan, and the email shows that also.

Sounds like you should switch.

We're on the 12 GB plan, with a corporate discount. Changing for us (2 phones, 1 tablet) would increase our bill, not decrease. We do use wifi at work and home, and usually have roll over data month to month.

While it's nice to use my phone as a wifi hot spot, I don't use it enough to NEED unlimited data, I don't suppose.

We're pretty much the same with our usage.
