Why is the way my phones charges changing?

Here is the story. One day (about 3 days ago) my phone was charging normally. Then i took it off the charger for a bit. When i tried to plug it in later it would only charge when it was turned off. A little worried i kept charging it while it was off. The next day when i plugged it in it wouldn't charge at all not even with it off. A few hours later i tried again and this time i didn't have to turn it off because it charged. Then fast forward to next day it continued to charge without being turned off. Later that afternoon i plugged it in, i didn't need to turn it off. After a while i check back at my percentage it charged for while but had stopped randomly throughout the time i wasn't on it. My phone was not fully charged. (This is now)

I did change chargers and outlets and it does the same thing
I have a Samsung Galaxy s6
I have had a water incident with the phone before but it was almost 11 months ago and the phone had no damage to it...

So what I need to know is WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Water damage can take a long time to cause noticeable effects.

Try a different cable and charger. Cables especially can fail...
