Why is the wifi on my phone slow but everything else isn't?

My phone is slow using applications etc using wifi but then my ipad, laptop (etc) aren't slow at all.

I get 54mbps on laptop and then ranging from 0-39 on my phone?

Welcome to Android Central! Is the signal good? Does this happen on any wi-fi network, or just your home network?
