Why is there a blue dot on 1 of my contact numbers?

Sounds like you've got a notification from them.

If you want a more specific answer you'll need to ask a more specific question. Provide information like which phone you have and if you're using the stock contact app/dialer or something else. Personally I've never seen a blue dot by one of my contacts and I've used android for over 5 years, so we probably don't have the same phone.

When I was using the default samsung messages app, a blue dot would indicate that the contact also had Verizon's enhanced messaging enabled. Not sure if this is what you are describing.
