Why is there a lightning bolt and red X on my battery icon when the tablet is not even plugged in?

So I've been using the same charger that came with my Samsung Galaxy Tab A for as long as I have had the tab. All of a sudden a red x and a lightning bolt appear at the same time on my battery icon when not charging or plugged in. Not to mention the tablet does occasionally think it is charging whem it is not plugged in.

I have tried numorous different chargers and adapters, the red x and lightning bolt still don't go away. I have also tried cleaning the debris from my tablets port and the charger cables too, still no progress.

I should also mention that the x and the lightning bolt dissapear for a few seconds and then reappear. And the only time they aren't there is wnen my tab is charging.

Please, I would love some help and answers as to what a red x and lightning bolt appearning at the same time means and what I should do.

I'd guess your battery is failing and the device is trying to warn you.
Have you noticed a shorter time before you need a charge?

Yes I have actually, and the tab also seems to heat up really quick. Guess a replacment would be neccesary. Thanks for the reply!
