Why is there a Red X on my battery icon when it's plugged in?

Why is there a Red X on my battery icon when it's plugged in? My tab is just 2 hours old.
The battery is charging, but I don't get the Red X?

It means the power supply detected is lower than what is needed to charge the tablet properly with the tablet on so it is charging at a lower speed. This can happen if you are using your computer to charge, if you use a charger different that the official charger that came with the tablet, if you have a problem with your power source, if the charger or cable is defective, if there is a problem with your charging port, or even a firmware problem.

So, things to try depend on your current situation. If charging from a computer - use a wall outlet. If not using the Samsung charger that came with the tablet, use that charger. If you are using that charger, try a different wall outlet, then try a different cable, then try a different charger with the same or greater specs as the Samsung charger.

Of course, if you have not turned off your tablet and turned it back on, do that as well. Does that tablet have a removable battery? If so, remove the battery for a minute. Also make sure the charging port is clean and no bent pins are seen. Lastly, try a factory reset. If all the above doesn't make a difference, then since it is brand new, exchange it.

Hi, i'm samsung galaxy tab s2 8.0 user. I have charging problem with my device. It was going well since i bought it about 5 months ago, until two days ago, I was making a video call with my friend until my battery drained out. My device shutted down because it was really 0%, so i charged it immediately and then i left it about 2 hours, when i tap the home button i didnt see the battery icon charging, then i turned it on and the device said ' your device is charging slowly to charge faster, use the original charger'. The problem is, this thing came out after 5 months and the charger i've been using was the one that came with this tab in the box. I dont know what to do anymore. By the way, this tab works properly the only problem is it is charging slowly, even after 3 hours only 30%. Please help me sort this problem. Thanks

Hi, can you please help me sorting iut my problem? I'm samsung galaxy tablet s2 8.0 user, i've been with this device since 5 months from a new one. One day, i used my device too much until my battery drained out to zero. Then, i tried to charge it immediately and left it about two hours and when i come back, my device didn't show battery charging when its off. But when i turned it on, its only have 30% since i charged it about two hours, its only got 30%. It is not normal as before. I tried to reset factory but still no joy. Now, i can t even think staright wether i send this to repair or just leave it like this. Please help me fix it!
